This may sound like a humblebrag, but there are problems that arise when your business is too successful. How much of the profits should you reinvest in the company? How can you serve more people? And, where do you get signage for your organization’s new space? Bleu Door Bakery recently had to go through the trying times of expanding. Fortunately, they contacted Specialty Graphic Solutions for restaurant signage for Vancouver, WA.
What Is Bleu Door Bakery?
Located on Main Street in Vancouver, Bleu Door Bakery lives up to its name: it’s fancy, has a blue door, and they bake (and cook) unbelievably delicious breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dessert options. You may swear up and down that you’ve had their offerings yet never visited their storefront. That is quite possible, since they cater and offer their goodies through numerous local coffee shops in the Vancouver area.
When a restaurant that provides such a great culinary experience for local diners came to us for business expansion signs in Vancouver, WA, we couldn’t wait to sink our teeth into this project. When they first opened in 2011 in downtown Vancouver’s Uptown Village neighborhood, our mighty sign makers made Bleu Door Bakery’s new signs: an A-frame sign, a special outdoor menu display printed on canvas, and an overhead building sign. Owner Bonnie Brasure knew she could count on SGS to get the job done right as she expanded her dream business.
We Were on a Roll with Bleu Door
Bleu Door was expanding into the building next door to include a sit down, full service restaurant, and the older storefront was going to be rebranded as “Bleu Door Bakery Express.” They needed us to update their signage to reflect these changes.
First off, we created a new backlit panel insert for the existing lightbox cabinet installed on the new full service space. The panel insert is made of 3/16” polycarbonate sign panel with a laminated, full color print on translucent Avery vinyl. This allows light to shine through at night.
The original building sign got an “Express” hanging sign added. This was made of full color digital print with laminate on 3mm aluminum composite sign material. The canvas outdoor menu needed to have the new Express branding, so we gave the new marker the same flair and texture of the original look by using a full color digital print on Neschen Monet Canvas material stretched over a plywood backer and mounted on a frame with black, wrought iron decorative fixtures.
Finally, on the new expanded section, we list the bakery’s name and hours using door window graphics made of Avery cut vinyl and laminated digital prints applied to the outside of the glass. In the end, Bleu Door got their just desserts (in a good way.) And, we had another satisfied customer.
