Signs and Graphics for Charity Poker Event by BnK Construction Benefits Dental Foundation!

By | Event Signs and Graphics, Promotional Signs

Most of us have donated money at some point in our lives. It feels pretty good knowing you’ve helped someone out, but the exchange of cash isn’t really that memorable or sentimental unless you have a particular attachment to Ben Franklin. For the rest of us, an emotional connection to these transactions comes from the fun events nonprofits put on to help raise funds. Nowadays, you can do everything from pudding wrestling to run a marathon to cuss out your caddie on the golf course for a good cause.  Special Event Signs helps drive donations.

The Dental Foundation of Oregon and BnK Construction wanted to get gamblers in on the game, so they put together a poker tournament. To show their appreciation for their many generous sponsors, they contacted Specialty Graphic Solutions for signs and graphics for charity poker events in Oregon.

What’s the BnK/DFO Charity Poker Tournament?

The BnK/DFO Charity Poker Tournament isn’t one of those rough-and-tumble card tournaments that Kenny Rogers would write about. Instead, it’s a friendly Texas hold’em poker tournament put on to raise funds for the Dental Foundation of Oregon (DFO). Their mission is to improve the oral health of Oregon’s children through programs like the Tooth Taxi, which brings direct care and oral health education to underserved children using a free mobile dental clinic. The event attracts many sponsors with our friends at BnK Construction chief among them.

When an organization that does so much to help the smiles and overall wellbeing of children came to us for signs and graphics for charity poker events in Oregon, we went all in! BnK Construction was already well aware that our mighty sign makers knew their stuff. We’d produced trade show displays for them a couple years go. We did such a great job that they came back to us for their latest project. We didn’t disappoint!

We Played Our Cards Right

Our first step in the sign making process is to meet with the client and get a good idea of what they have in mind for their project. After all, unlike the best poker players, we aren’t mind readers. They had a whole host of sponsors: table sponsors, a beer sponsor, in-kind sponsors, sponsor cocktail, coconut sponsor, sponsor gumbo, and so on. They needed a way to show their appreciation. We recommended sign panels, and once the client approved of the art proofs, we got to work fabricating them.

Since this was only a one-night event, we mainly used inexpensive materials to save the client money, such as coroplast sign panels. We applied the names of sponsors and their logos using digitally printed vinyl or by printing directly onto the coroplast sign substrate. We then finished the table sponsor panels with grommets to make them easy to hang. Other signs relied on easels. In the end, DFO and BnK were thrilled with the job we did, and the event was a great success! We’re not even bluffing!

Part of securing sponsors is showing your appreciation for their generosity and giving them some value for their donation. This is possible by making their logos and branding prevalent at your events. SGS will help with this. Make your next fundraiser a success by contacting our mighty sign makers today for a free consultation!

Grab Attention with these Retail Advertising Signs in Portland OR!

By | Point of Purchase Signs, Promotional Signs, Retail Signs

What’s the best way to get consumers interested in your products? If your items are small enough to fit in your hand, you could connect a couple of them together with a short chain and have a karate master swing them around like nunchakus. If your goods are larger, you could have children ride on the products you’re trying to sell like they’re ponies.

Of course, these two solutions don’t really show off what your products are capable of, unless, of course, you sell nunchakus or ponies. Consequently, you’ll just have to rely on retail advertising signs in Portland, OR. Fortunately, Specialty Graphic Solutions has some great ideas for you. Check it out!

Menu Boards

Our menu boards are anything but boring. They’re a favorite in restaurants because they fulfill an array of needs, like complementing your interior décor, building your brand recognition, and displaying colorful photographs of your best-selling dishes. For easier readability, we usually group menu items by type. For instance, at your pizza parlor, we’d recommend separate sections for pizzas, calzones, subs, and more.

Point-of-Sale Graphics

These graphics are a real POS. No, we’re not saying their total crap. For retailers, POS means “point-of-sale.” And, POS graphics are a must if you want to encourage those impulse purchases. In addition to boosting sales for specific products, you can also use these markers to promote your customer loyalty programs or to get consumers to sign up for store credit cards.

Vinyl Wall Graphics

Our phone is ringing off the hook with business owners calling about wall graphics. This product is catching on because it can be used for just about anything. Since it’s less expensive, less stinky, and quicker than painting, wall murals are the perfect way to update interior designs. Wall graphics can highlight famous, attractive, and/or successful people enjoying your products. After all, who doesn’t want to be like famous, attractive, and/or successful people?

Banners Stands and Cardboard Cutouts

Both outdoors and in, cardboard cutouts and banners stands are smart additions to your retail shop. They’re often used to promote big sales. For example, you could use a big cutout of Damian Lillard to advertise your special giveaway any time a Portland Trail Blazer records a triple double. Get the word out about the deal by putting your information in the way of foot traffic.

Posters

Within each poster we produce, there lies the power to magically turn your average Joe into a loyal customer. Also, when you combine these efforts with images evocative of the seasons, you really drive shoppers into a buying frenzy. We can mount these posters on stands near your registers or specialty products or install them on walls.

Have You Visited Our “Wildcard” Signage Tab? Here’s What You’ll Find!

By | Awards and Plaques, Labels and Decals, Promotional Signs, Wild Card

If you’ve ever visited the Wild Card Gallery on our website, you know that we’re capable of just about anything. This gallery consists of projects we’ve completed that don’t easily fit into nice neat categories. These are the Robert Frosts of signage: they take the road less traveled. Most other sign shops would say “no” to making these markers.

Fortunately, the mighty sign makers at Specialty Graphic Solutions love tackling new challenges. In today’s blog, we’re going to take a closer look at some of the custom signs for Vancouver, WA that we’ve made.

Customize Your Meeting Materials

You can get a lot of planning done over the Internet. Yet, there’s only so much you can see on your computer screen, and a lot of people just skip over emails and other important information. Many organizations still rely heavily on dry erase boards because of this. We help our customers visualize their work obstacles and create plans of attack with custom dry erase boards featuring their branding.

Unique Awards that Winners Are Proud to Display

Have you ever won an award and been embarrassed by the quality of the knickknack? The chances are you weren’t too interested in showing it off. When events or businesses cut corners on trophies and awards, it shows. Plus, they’re missing out on a great opportunity to boost their brand awareness.

At SGS, we can produce a broad range of awards at a relatively affordable price. We only supply pieces that are sure to catch eyes. This will guarantee that recipients will display their awards on their walls or in other prominent places where others are sure to see your incorporated branding. We’ve become a leading trophy maker for dragon boat races. Check out our paddle awards!

Graphics for that Special Someone

Do you have a special someone, or something, in your life that you’d like to beautify? For one warehouse worker, it was their forklift, Esther. They liked their forklift so much that they called up SGS for forklift graphics. We’ve put graphics on plenty of boats and cars, but the forklift was unique. But, we learned that we can apply vinyl graphics, labels or decals to just about any vehicle.

Save on Your Remodeling Project

If you’ve ever hired a remodeling contractor, you understand how expensive it can be. When it comes to installing a marble countertop, replacing old cabinets, and painting everything a color you’ll likely get sick of within a few months, you’re looking at shelling out tens of thousands of dollars. Or, you can get custom graphics of your choice when you contact SGS for vinyl kitchen backsplashes. These are easy to clean, and when you grow sick of them, we can easily remove them and apply new graphics that capture your newest fancy.

Contact SGS if you’ve had a difficult time trying to find a sign company to make your unusual signs in Vancouver, WA. Our mighty sign makers will give you an honest assessment of whether or not they can do it. In all likelihood, they’ll be up for the challenge. Call today to learn more!

Have You Browsed Our Glossary of Signage Terms? Learn What We Can Do!

By | New Business Signs, Promotional Signs, Signage Design, Signage Terms

Do you know sign language? Please stop giving your computer screen the peace sign. We can’t see it, and we’re not talking about American Sign Language. We’re talking about the language we use in the signage industry. Did you know that we have a whole page devoted to sign language terms in Vancouver, WA? It’s true. Today’s blog will entice you to check it out. We double-dog dare you to peruse it!

Why Should You Learn about Signage Terms?

If you’re like us, you don’t like wasting your time learning about things that aren’t relevant to your life or your interests. There’s just too much fun stuff to see, do, and learn. However, if you’re interested in buying effective signage for your business, spending the five to ten minutes learning the language of signs can ensure that you end up with markers that you want.

How will learning sign language help you? Let’s say you went to France and didn’t know any French. The French are used to these situations and will work with you to make sure you have a pleasant experience, but you won’t get the most out of your experience. You won’t know how to express yourself precisely or to know exactly what others are saying. The same holds true in the signage industry. Our mighty sign makers are happy to work with people of any level of knowledge, but you’ll have a better understanding of what’s going on if you know the lingo.

If this doesn’t have you convinced, how about we give you some FREE MONEY? If you go and read our commercial sign glossary right now, you’ll find discount codes hidden among the definitions. Okay, so maybe discounts aren’t exactly free money, but they can save you hundreds of dollars.

What Can You Learn from the Glossary?

Our list of signage terms is packed full of useful information. For instance, you may have gotten a quote from us referencing “cast vinyl” or “calendered vinyl.” What do those terms even mean? Our glossary will let you know that cast vinyl is a premium vinyl for complex surfaces that need a longer life, such as boat graphics or vehicle wraps. Calendered vinyl is an intermediate film used for short-term projects.

We often reference “stand off mounts” in our blogs. This is especially true when we’re talking about lobby signs with a dimensional appearance. But, what are they? A little look at the glossary lets you know that stand off mounts are sign mounting hardware with two or more pieces that allow the marker to be stood off a wall.

What about “truss displays”? You sometimes mention these when discussing your trade show display options. Our handy sign language definitions will let you know that truss displays are sturdy exhibits made of extruded aluminum hardware. They are a heavy duty, attention-grabbing, and smart solution for serious exhibitors.

Now that you have a sneak preview of our glossary of signage terms for Vancouver, WA, what’re you waiting for? Go look for yourself! And, of course, if you have any questions, the mighty sign makers at Specialty Graphic Solutions will be more than happy to answer them for you whether or not you’ve done your homework.
