Bicycle Biker Gang: Vehicle Wraps for Vintage iQ Credit Union Bikes

By | Unique Vehicle Graphics, Vehicle Graphics, Vehicle Wrap

Picture your childhood summers. Now picture better, imaginary childhood summers like the ones you see in movies and on television. Were the kids in your imagined vision riding bikes on suburban streets? Did the bikes look modern or did they have that wide handlebar, red and white, 1950’s look? Vehicle Wraps for Bikes make your dreams come true.

If you had a crummy bike with a chain that kept popping off when you were a kid you probably feel a little peeved when you see those movies where the kid is riding one of those beautiful retro bikes and then drops it onto the sidewalk like a heap of scrap. You probably thought you’d treat that bike better, you’d give it the respect it deserves, but you knew you’d never have one because they probably stopped making them. Lucky for you, they did not. And what’s better, we can make them look even cooler.

Vehicle Wraps for Vintage Bikes

Recently, iQ Credit Union, based in Vancouver Wash., got in touch with us. They bought 19 replica 1952 Columbia Cruiser bikes for a promotional event and they wanted to add a bit of their brand to the bikes with a few vinyl vehicle wraps. Before we go further let’s be clear; these are THE bikes. The ones you think of if you combine the words “childhood” and “vintage.” They even come with a headlight. The kind that’s shaped like a bullet. Who wouldn’t want that?

The unabashed awesomeness of this project meant we didn’t hesitate to get involved.

The Process

The bikes arrived in boxes. We scrambled to get them open. They were partially unassembled. No big deal for the Mighty Sign Makers, we figured we’d have them together in a few minutes. Then we found out bikes in 1952 had a LOT of parts. We began the assembly and felt for all the dads back in the 1950s who had to quietly put a bike together on Christmas Eve.

The next step was removing the gas tank, chain guard and both fenders. Taking apart a bike is much easier than putting one together. Once we them all off, we wrapped these pieces in the familiar red and black plaid of iQ Credit Union, digitally printed on premium cast wrap vinyl. When we were finished with the wraps, we reassembled the bikes. They looked awesome.

Not Done Yet

Just before they picked up the bikes, the client got in touch. They asked if we could fill the tires. The thought of taking 19 bikes to a gas station air pump had crossed their mind, so they wanted to see if we could do it. 38 tires on 19 bikes. No air compressor or air pump. Of course, we said yes. The Mighty Sign Makers love a challenge. Just as we got ready to inflate them by mouth, someone arrived with a borrowed air compressor and we got all 38 tires full of air.

The client arrived to pick up the bikes. He congratulated us on a job well done, said the bikes looked “swell” and took one for a test drive.

RV Wraps Any Way You Get Around, We’ll Make It Look Good

By | Unique Vehicle Graphics, Vehicle Graphics, Vehicle Wrap

Every business has its unique set of tools. The carpenter doesn’t use the same tools as the editor. The chef doesn’t use the same tools as the plumber (hopefully). Some trades use vehicles in their everyday processes and tasks. Not every trade that uses vehicles uses the same vehicles.  RV Wraps.

The vehicles you use in your business should reflect you and your business. The vehicles you use at home should say something about you. Vehicle wraps are a great way to add that touch of personalization, but what do you do when the vehicle you use does not fit the traditional form of car, truck or van?

There are a lot of places that offer vehicle wraps and decals. To them, vehicle means cars, vans, and trucks. That’s not what vehicle means to us. Your business has specific needs and specific tools to fulfill those needs. Not everyone uses a car in their business. You might want a boat, forklift, golf cart, or RV customized to fit your style. At Specialty Graphic Solutions, we’ve done wraps and decals for all of those.

Don’t Limit Yourself

If you want to make your forklift look pretty, we can help. If you want people to remember your name as they leap out of the way of your company golf cart, we can help. If you want to show people what truly lies at the heart of you with a picture of your parakeet on your RV, we can help.

There are more than just cars out there. You shouldn’t be limited to just making your cars cool. There are businesses that don’t use a fleet of trucks, they use fleets of golf carts or forklifts. There’s no need for you branding to be limited because you can pick stuff up and put it down with your vehicle. Even if you don’t have wheels, that shouldn’t stop you from making your tools marketing. You can put an awesome decal or wrap on a boat you use in your business or organization.

Specialty Graphic Solutions

We like to step outside of the norm at Specialty Graphics Solutions. We want to give you great signs that work for you. We don’t mind if you need those signs to work on a boat, car, trucks or covered wagon, we can help you with your branding needs. Your business is unique so we offer unique solutions.

Boat Graphics for Fishing Guide Businesses Help Advertise Tours!

By | Boat Graphics, Boat Lettering, Unique Vehicle Graphics

Many sign companies say that they can wrap anything, but when you call them up, their claims don’t hold water. Well, at Specialty Graphic Solutions, we don’t claim that we can wrap everything, but we do have experience creating graphics for a variety of motor vehicles and appliances. Big Game Fishing wanted vinyl boat graphics in Hammond, Oregon, so they contacted SGS to find out if our skills are sea-worthy.

Big Game Fishing Is More than a Game

Located on 5th Avenue in Hammond, Oregon, Big Game Fishing is the business of fishing guide Jim Fowler. Jim runs guided fishing and crabbing trips near Buoy 10, a famous spot where the mighty Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean. He has been fishing the Columbia since he was a teenager riding his bike to the banks to cast a line. These days, he enjoys sharing his love of the river with his clients.

When someone who’s as passionate about the Pacific Northwest as we are came to us for vinyl boat graphics for fishing guide businesses in Hammond, Oregon, we couldn’t wait to tackle the job. Thousands of anglers are typically out fishing at the famous spot where Jim takes his clients. This is especially true when the salmon are ready to start their migration up the river to spawning grounds.

Jim felt like he was missing out on a great marketing and branding opportunity since he had nothing but his registration numbers on his boat. So, he contacted a couple other sign companies about his graphics ideas, but they weren’t up for the job. It takes a special sign shop to work on boats. Fortunately, SGS is pretty special.

Big Game Graphics for Big Game Fishing

We first set up an initial consultation with Big Game Fishing to check out the boat and to listen closely to Jim’s vision. We have a lot of experience putting graphics on boats, but not all boats are in our wheelhouse. Jim has a 26-foot custom Alumaweld Formula V center console fishing boat with Yamaha outboard power. It’s in great shape but very plain looking. Luckily, this particular boat was going to serve as a great canvas for our graphics!

Our mighty sign maker Jason created a great design that went above and beyond simple letters on the side of a boat. Jim appreciated the art proofs. Once he approved of them, our team got to work producing the graphics.

We used our “oh so fantastic” Roland VersaCam printer to print out the graphics on top-quality Oracal print vinyl and laminates. Then, our mighty sign maker Taylor – that’s him showing off his guns next to the finished product – installed the graphics here at our climate-controlled shop. In the end, Big Game James, as he’s known out on the water, was big time pleased with the results. We had another satisfied customer!

If you have a boat or car or refrigerator that could benefit from a vinyl wrap, contact SGS today to get the job done right!

Unique Vehicle Wraps? We’ve Got ‘Em!

By | Boat Graphics, Unique Vehicle Graphics

Sure, we see vehicle wraps on cars, trucks, and vans on the road every day. They’re hard to miss. Yet, not all of us get around using these common modes of transportation. These days, and particularly in this part of the country, people are using all sorts of novel ways to travel. Who’s to say we can’t wrap a boat? Or a golf cart? No one. No one can tell us that we can’t wrap these things. So, that’s exactly what we did. Check out some of our unique vehicle wraps for Vancouver, WA in today’s blog post.

Slick Golf Carts on and off the Links

Just because golf carts are commonly used to transport horribly dressed people doesn’t mean that the carts themselves have to look bad. Dress up your golf carts with vehicle graphics. Who isn’t envious of someone driving a golf cart around? Make them more envious with sweet graphics.

We applied the logo for ISG to one of their golf carts. Much to the chagrin of their employees, ISG doesn’t have an on-premises golf course. However, they do use a golf cart to cruise around their large campus. Now, the cart carries their branding and lends a level of authority to the vehicle.

Show Your Forklift that You Really Care

Forklift drivers sometimes spend more time with their four-wheeled friends than they do with their family. So, it’s only natural for a bond to develop. What better way to tell your forklift that you love her than with vehicle graphics? That’s exactly what we did for one forklift named Esther. We also included flowery flourishes. Now, one Vancouver forklift driver is traveling around in style.

Hit the Road with RV Murals

Is there anything more iconic than hitting America’s road in an RV? Whether you’re just traveling to the mountains or the coast for the weekend or you’re spending months traveling the continent, RV murals are excellent conversation starters. One of our clients chose to incorporate an artistic rendering of their two dogs applied to the rear of their camper. Now, Fluffy and Toto (names changed to protect the innocent) can be with them wherever they may roam.

Enter the Dragon Boat

Through some fault of our own, we’ve become somewhat of a legendary sign shop within the dragon boating community. In addition to having wrapped several dragon boats in the Pacific Northwest and beyond, we’ve also wrapped paddles to be used as trophies. You may think that just any sign maker can wrap a dragon boat. This simply isn’t true. A sign company must have large enough facilities to protect the wrap job from the elements while they install the graphics so they’ll look great for many eras (or years) to come.

Do you notice the trend yet? That’s right: we can apply vinyl graphics to just about anything with a smooth, nonporous surface. Don’t believe us? Put our mighty sign makers to the challenge today. Contact SGS for a free consultation on unique vehicle wraps for Vancouver, WA.
