Types of Exterior Building Signs for Your Vancouver Business!

By | Dimensional Letter Signs, Exterior Signs, Monument Signs | No Comments

Where do potential customers first learn about your company? If you have a massive budget, it may be from product placement in the latest Michael Bay movie. If you’re like the rest of us, though, you have a tight marketing budget and have to rely on traditional ways to get your name out there, such as exterior building signs. Vancouver, WA property managers and business owners who want to make an outstanding first impression turn to the mighty sign makers at Specialty Graphic Solutions for their markers. Take a look at these examples of our handiwork to see why:

Monument Signs

CriterionBrock wanted a classy way to help their clients find their storefront. As a flooring company, they wanted to demonstrate that they thought outside of the box, so we helped them project this image with a unique monument sign.

Monument signs are usually installed along a busy roadway near the entrance to your parking lot and are substantial enough to serve as landmarks. For instance, the receptionist might tell clients to hang a left at the big silver monument sign when offering directions over the phone.

Panel Signs

RoofLine Supply’s new facility was close to a major freeway. The best way to get motorists to take the next exit and visit their showroom was with giant, high contrast panel signs. We installed them high up, so drivers could see them from far away and wouldn’t need to slam on the brakes or cut off other cars to get over to the off ramp.

Panel signs are a popular option because of their sophisticated appearance and versatility. Since aluminum is durable and affordable, we typically use aluminum composite panels as the backing for this signage.

Dimensional Letter Signs

Shields Manufacturing came to us with a somewhat intricate logo when they needed a sign for their new location. Dimensional letters also incorporate logo elements despite what their name may suggest. Our friendly professionals captured the logo and typeface with acrylic.

Dimensional letters signs are usually made of PVC, metal, acrylic, wood, or sign foam. Sign foam can be covered with acrylic or metal laminate and can be as thick as four inches. To make the letters really stand out, they’re mounted with spacers.

Blade Signs

If your storefront is along a busy sidewalk, a sign flush mounted to the façade isn’t likely to attract a lot of foot traffic. Passersby simply won’t be able to read your exterior building signs. Vancouver, WA boutiques are avoiding this problem by calling SGS up for blade signs. These markers are installed perpendicular to the outside wall of your building, so people walking by can spot you. Just check out the aluminum composite panel we fabricated and mounted for Spangler Vineyards’ Tasting Room.

Do you have something in mind that isn’t pictured here? Too bad! This is all we produce! But seriously, we can supply you with custom signs of any size, shape, color, material, or style. If you can imagine it, our experts are up for the challenge. Even if other sign shops have said it’s simply not possible, we’re the kings of making the impossible possible. To get started today, contact SGS for a free consultation.

New Exterior Building Sign for Kings Cross Automotive!

By | Exterior Signs | No Comments

Take a moment to envision going to a high-end restaurant and being greeted with a tattered banner as their only exterior signage. You’d probably think twice about dropping $20 on an escargot appetizer. Your outdoor signs say a lot about what kind of services and products consumers can expect to find in your fine establishment. Kings Cross Automotive recognized this, so they contacted the mighty sign makers at SGS for buildings signs for auto service centers in Vancouver, WA.

Kings Cross Automotive? What’s That?

Located on East Reserve Street in Vancouver, Kings Cross Automotive specializes in repairing fancy automobiles, specifically Land Rovers and Jaguars. Their team has more than two decades of combined experience. The staff of certified, factory trained technicians use the latest computer diagnostic equipment to quickly diagnose, service, and fix any faults. Their mission is to provide dealership quality repairs without the additional expense.

When a business that provides such valuable services to the drivers of the Pacific Northwest came to us for exterior building signs for automotive centers in Vancouver, WA, we were more than happy to help out. Kings Cross has only been around since 2014, and since their opening, they’ve used a banner on their building next to the entrance to announce their presence. They were ready to for a more permanent arrangement. They called the right people!

We’re Bringing Classy Back

Kings Cross contacted us for an acrylic sign featuring standoffs. We like to make sure our clients are completely satisfied throughout every step of the process. Even if their name isn’t “Kings Cross,” we still treat all customers as kings. We didn’t think acrylic would be the best choice, since the building is brick, and the brick would show through the transparency of the acrylic and make it hard to read the logo. So, in addition to giving them a mockup of the acrylic sign, we also showed them how sharp and elegant a brushed silver back panel would look and let them decide what they wanted.

We felt the brushed silver complemented the appearance of their website and other marketing materials, and in the end, Kings Cross agreed. They gave us the go ahead to move forward with their new marker.

We started with 3mm brushed silver finish aluminum composite sign material. Specifically, we used the popular AluPanel. For the front of the sign, we affixed custom routed quarter-inch thick painted PVC logo and letters. On the face of the PVC shield logo, we used a laminated, digital print to ensure we got the graphics just right.

To add an extra level of depth to the marker, we utilized six satin silver finish standoffs to mount the sign. In fact, as Kings Cross outgrows their current location and the need for a bigger venue becomes apparent, they can simply unscrew the mount caps for the sign and take it with them to the new site.

They were so happy with their new sign that they also had us update their cut vinyl graphics above the entrance to their Parts and Service Desk and on the front door. And, we’ll soon be wrapping their silver Land Rover with vehicle graphics.

Are you ready to attract those shoppers who rove the land like big cats to your storefront? If so, contact SGS today for appealing exterior markers!

RoofLine Supply’s New “Building” Signs Fabricated to Get Noticed!

By | Exterior Signs | No Comments

Moving your business to a new location isn’t just about having a roof over your head. You also need to have doors and restroom facilities and electricity-oh yeah, and signage! If you want to attract new clients and get loyal customers to follow you to your new space, you must have building signs marking your location. RoofLine Supply recognized this, so they contacted the friendly professionals at Specialty Graphic Solutions for exterior building signs Vancouver WA consumers will notice.

RoofLine Supply Demystified

RoofLine Supply has more than twenty locations throughout the Western United States. Their newest location is on Northeast 13th Avenue in Vancouver. They specialize in the distribution of the finest commercial and residential roofing products and accessories. The business has evolved quite a bit, since they first opened their doors in the early ‘90s.

When a business that’s dedicated to keeping our homes safe from the harsh elements came to us for commercial building signs Vancouver WA consumers would notice, our mighty sign makers jumped into action. RoofLine needed a variety of different markers for their new digs, including building signs and window graphics. Only a bad case of the shingles could keep us from taking on this job.

RoofLine Gets the SGS Treatment

To make sure RoofLine didn’t violate any terms of their lease, we started the project by talking with the landlord for the new facility. The landlord expressed concern about the number of holes that would need to be drilled into the exterior for individual dimensional letters to be installed. No problem! Instead, we suggested that we could apply the letters to a panel, which would then be mounted to the building. The landlord was happy because it would require less holes drilled into the facade. Plus, the installation would be a lot faster on our end.

We created two signs: a larger 24 foot by 3.5 foot sign that would be visible from the major highway nearby and a smaller 8 foot by 4 foot sign facing the driveway consumers would use to get to the RoofLine building. We used 3mm aluminum composite panels painted to blend into the color of the building’s siding. The raised letters are made of half inch thick black PVC with black paint. We chose black instead of RoofLine’s blue to provide for maximum contrast and readability.

We were able to use their blue for the graphics we applied to the main entrance doors that welcome new clients to their warehouse and showroom. The graphics were made from cut vinyl. In the end, RoofLine had excellent signage for their new venue. And, we had another satisfied customer. In fact, next week, we’re installing a new raised letter lobby sign for their showroom!

SGS is able to handle multiple big jobs at the same time. So, while we’re working on the new signage for RoofLine, we can also get started on an exterior building sign project for you. If you need a beacon to attract new shoppers to your showroom, contact us today for a free, no-strings-attached consultation!

New Business Branding: Graphic & Sign Solutions

By | Exterior Signs, Windows and Doors | No Comments

You don’t need to be a brainiac to know that branding is essential to the success of any business. A big part of branding is having unique signage that represents your company culture. PiperNP recognized this as she was launching her new business and contacted the mighty sign makers at Specialty Graphic Solutions for exterior signs Vancouver, WA would notice.

A Little About PiperNP

Located at Northeast 109th Court in Vancouver, PiperNP Psychiatry Services, Inc. is the business of Piper Buersmeyer. She’s an ANCC board certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. What does all that mean? Basically, she is an expert at medication management for clients of just about any age. She treats ODD, selective mutism, phobias, bipolar disorder, autism, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and much more.

When such an upstanding member of our community care to us for signage for her new business, we were more than happy to be the masterminds behind her project. Piper is just starting out, so she needed new business branding Vancouver WA would remember: a building sign, window/door graphics, and even stationery and business cards.

How We Helped Piper

First of all, we got started on the building sign. Since the business is new, Piper needed to make wise budget decisions. So, we recommended affordable flat panel signs. These are made of three millimeter thick aluminum composite material. A full color vinyl print is adhered to the panel along with a protective laminate to ensure the sign lasts for many years to come. We created a mid-sized sign, six feet wide by two and a half feet tall, that can be seen from great distances.

Next, we printed out vinyl graphics for the glass door featuring the same branding as the building sign. Since the glass is heavily tinted, we applied the graphics to the exterior and used vinyl and laminate designed to stand up against the weather.

Finally, Piper asked us if we knew of any good places for business cards and stationery. As a one stop shop for all kinds of ways to get notice, we told her we knew of a place. Our “Jill of All Trades” Kindra got down to work rendering Piper’s blue flower logo as a watermark on printer paper and envelopes. For brand consistency, she also included it in the letterhead, on the return address line of the envelopes, and on the business cards.

It took us less than two weeks from when the order came in until installation was complete. In the end, Piper had professional signage and stationery that put to shame the plain Jane materials many private practices use. Piper will definitely stand out.
