If window graphics were to choose a song to sing at a local karaoke bar, they’d probably go with “If You Don’t Know Me by Now” by Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes. Sure, we all know that window graphics prefer soul music, but they’d mostly choose the song because you really ought to know about window graphics by now. We’re not giving up hope, though. We think you can still know about them. That’s why we wrote today’s blog about window graphics and frosting in Vancouver, WA.
Window Graphics: Getting Back to the Basics
At their most basic, window graphics – also referred to as window wraps, decals, lettering, and stickers – consist of images and text printed on top-quality vinyl using our state of the art digital printer. There are a number of variations on this theme. For instance, window cling has a low-tack adhesive that makes it repositionable and removable. And, perforated window vinyl consists of thousands of tiny holes that allow you to see through the vinyl without having to send away for those cool X-ray specs.
If you think that window graphics are only able to display your business name, we sincerely hope you have someone else doing the creative thinking for your organization. They’re regularly the first chance you have to educate, market, and inform consumers about what you have for sale.
Where My Math Nerds at?
Let’s take a moment to look at the numbers. FedEx recently conducted a study where they found that more than three-quarters of consumers have gone into a store they’d never visited before because they had sweet window graphics, banners, or signs that grabbed their attention.
The same study also revealed the dark side of poor signage. In fact, 52 percent of shoppers who spot a poorly-made or misspelled sign will avoid a store. Fortunately, our mighty sign makers have foolproof systems in place to make sure your graphics look cooler than the other side of the pillow.
What about the Frosting?
Whereas your standard window graphics feature colorful, high-resolution photos or other images, frosting was a popular way of lightening the tips of your hair in the ‘90s. Um, my supervisor is telling me that we’re supposed to talk about window frosting, also known as etched vinyl or frosted vinyl window graphics. These products use vinyl films to mimic the look of etched glass.
Frosted vinyl is ideal for modern offices that have tons of interior windows. For example, have you ever been in a meeting and had your coworkers kind of just staring through the windows to see what was going on? You could moon them, but if you’re meeting with a client, that could be a turn-off or a turn-on. Either way, it’s bad news bears. Instead, use frosted vinyl to add a level of privacy. We can even incorporate your logo into the etched vinyl to give your branding a little boost.
