Life-size Cutouts Are Big Part of Legendary Marketing Promotion

By | Inside Signs | No Comments

Do you believe in legends and mythical creatures?  iQ Credit Union believes they can help make a big impression and we do too!  Our challenge: create seven foot tall, life-size cutouts of Sasquatch.  These life-size stand ups are part of iQ’s new legendary loan rates promotion.

Building a custom stand up of mythical proportion is no problem for the mighty sign makers at SGS.  We’ve done our fair share of wrangling the unusual and we love the projects iQ Credit Union brings. This includes sock monkeys, various sea critters and adorable canines!  We specialize in taking our customers’ creative ideas and bringing them to life.

It’s not every day that you get asked to make a seven foot tall Sasquatch.  The conversation went something like this:

“You know those big cardboard standups?”

“Yup!”

“Can you make some that are seven feet tall?”

“Of course!”

“Can you make some of them fold up for transport?”

“We’ll find a way!”

“Oh – and at least one has to fit into a tiny Scion iQ Car.”

“We can do it!”

iQ made Sasquatch fashionable with a fanny pack too.  He’s modeling their quarterly promotional giveaway for members who update their email addresses with the credit union.

Naturally, iQ needed some massive Sasquatch footprints for their branches too.  These fun floor graphics are another way for iQ to promote this campaign plus they add an interactive element.  You can see children and adults following each Big Foot through the branches.

The graphics can be applied to any tile or low-pile carpeted surface. When the campaign is over, they simply peel off and leave no trace behind. Just like the Big Guy himself.

Do you have a legendary project?  SGS has you covered from head to foot! Talk to the mighty sign makers by calling (360) 635-5556 or 503-766-3331. Floor Stickers Lead Customers

Lewis and Clark College just finished consolidating their IT Help Services into a single Help Desk located in the library.    Once the move was completed, the IT staff was then faced with the question of how to make sure students, faculty and staff could find them.  The answer –  Floor graphics!

The college created a fun & noticeable path with bright blue dots on the floor that led to the new service desk in the Aubrey R. Watzek Library.  No need for extra confusion and headaches when IT services changed locations.  The dots clearly led the way.

And no worries that they had different floor surfaces to work with in the library.  These graphics work on tile, low pile carpets, linoleum, hardwood, concrete and more.

Wayfinding is crucial on a college campus – especially with so many new students arriving each year.  Effective signs and graphics are a smart tool to help people get where they need to go. And especially in the 11th hour when that laptop seems to have eaten the essay due tomorrow – the IT service desk staff didn’t want frustrated students to end up getting lost while looking for help.

Ta-da! The bright 4 foot wide circle is a great way to announce, “You’re in the right place!”

According to Kelly Wainwright, Sr. Director of Client Engagement,  the floor graphics are working.  Folks are finding the help desk and even having a little fun in the process.  She said some folks actively try to step on each dot and others purposefully avoid walking on them – maybe because they don’t want to ruin the dots.

But walking on them is no problem.  They’re covered with a sturdy, non-slip laminate and will hold up for a couple of months even with all the rain & mud headed this way for the winter.

Retail Signs & Floor Graphics Make For A Doggone Great Promotional Campaign

By | Inside Signs

Retail Floor graphics work for businesses.  Working with a canine-themed message promoting doggone low rates, Specialty Graphic Solutions recently produced a series of great retail signs for iQ Credit Union.  Retail signs can be a powerful tool for promoting specific products and offers.  And these particular signs really made tracks . . . literally.

Using special purpose floor vinyls and non-skid overlaminates, SGS produced paw print floor decals that were placed on both tile and carpet floors in all the iQ branches.  We also  made laminated counter graphics for display at each teller counter.

The floor and counter graphics were unique and easily noticed.  The bright red eye-catching color of the decals didn’t hurt – but the unusual placement was what really drew attention.

In addition, SGS produced a set of high quality posters that featured actual dogs owned by iQ staff members.  These were positioned in the branches at eye level in more traditional fashion.  Together the retail signs, floor graphics and counter decals created a compelling visual message that helped grow the credit union’s business.

iQ Credit Union is the smart choice for all your financial needs. iQ Credit Union offers a full range of financial services, including checking accounts (free checking is just the beginning of a better-than-ever Member Rewards program), savings accounts, home mortgages, auto loans, home equity lines of credit, VISA cards and more.

Whether you are looking for production of a quarterly retail campaign or even a full sign makeover for your business, we’re the sign company that can help you find a solution for your unique needs.  There are many ways to contact us! Sign Ideas To Attract Shoppers

3 Great Retail Sign Ideas To Attract Holiday Shoppers

When you’re looking for new ideas for increasing sales in your retail store, don’t forget one of the most effective ways to communicate with shoppers in your store point-of-sale retail signs. Holiday shoppers – and we mean all kinds of holidays – are a great target audience for just about every kind of retailer.  Check out these stats:

The National Retail Federation has taken a close look at customer buying behavior during the various holidays. While everyone knows the winter holidays are huge business, other shopping occasions also bring out the buyers – and their wallets.

With respect to money spent, back-to-school shoppers spend almost $50 billion annually.  Mother’s Day shopping is exceeded only by Valentine’s Day buying.  Additional retail “holidays” include St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween, the Super Bowl, Father’s Day and Easter.

Staying competitive and bringing in those buyers calls for a smart advertising campaign that includes signs. But what types of signage should you include for your retail location?

  • Window graphics.  Window clings are quick and easy to put up and take down so you can change the look of your store’s windows in just an hour or two. Some retailers have even created an attractive vinyl decal frame for their store windows. Then as the seasons and holidays change they add new window graphics to the mix to promote current products. This way they are always marketing to the most current buying moods of customers.

Black Rock Coffee uses window clings to promote seasons drinks and keep their customers current on specials. Black Rock Coffee uses window clings to promote seasons drinks and keep their customers current on specials.

  • Floor graphics. If you’re looking for a new way to get your message noticed, consider floor graphics. They are some of the most noticeable point-of-sale signs available.  Add them to your holiday-themed retail signage to compliment your other marketing material. Floor graphics are becoming more common in grocery stores, but you’ll be out ahead of the curve by adding them to your boutique, toy store or pet store.
  • Banners. Seasonal banners have the power to create lots of buzz outside your store. When you hang them above or below your standard signage, you immediately attract the notice of shoppers by having “something different” on your building’s façade.

If all of this sounds a bit overwhelming, don’t worry! At Specialty Graphic Solutions, we have lots of ways to produce creative and effective signs for your retail location.

Mother’s Day is right around the corner – and then don’t forget Dads next month.  There’s a cool $25 billion out there to be spent just on those two upcoming holidays alone!  So contact us about creative, effective signs and visual displays. 4 Tips About Trade Show Displays

4 Tips About Trade Show Displays

Are your trade show displays small, scraped and a bit worn around the edges? Are you hoping to squeeze one or two more seasons out of your tired displays? Beware of making a fool’s bargain, particularly when you see other exhibitors sporting new trade show displays, custom booths, and ultra-modern retractable banner stands.

What do the experts say? Trade Show Executive, the industry insider publication dedicated to keeping a watchful eye on what makes trade shows grow, work and prosper, has crunched the numbers and published them in a research roundup. The findings are eye-opening.

1. Attend 9+ events a year

To keep in step with your competition, you need to commit to attending at least nine trade shows this year. And experts say the optimum booth size is about 200 net square feet. If your equipment cannot keep up with these minimum requirements, you might have a difficult time keeping pace with other retailers or service providers in your niche. Our customer Alde uses three different size displays so no matter space a trade show offers, they can still make an impact.

2. Be ready to sell to consumers who are ready to buy NOW

Effective exhibit displays have the power to influence the buying decisions of attendees who are already predisposed to parting with their money. Researchers discovered that 69 percent of trade show attendees were eager to buy new products. Does your current display persuasively argue in favor of buying from you versus the competition?  A professional, eye-catching display with a well-targeted message is a critical tool that helps draw in those customers who are looking for the right place to spend their money.

3. Take advantage of a captive audience

Did you know that trade show visitors spend about 8.3 hours looking at the wide variety of exhibits that businesses put up? Does your current display setup compare favorably to the competitor next door? If he has all the bells and whistles while your banner stands are broken and held together in the back with duct tape, you are missing out on making that crucial first impression a great one. In fact, some visitors might just keep walking without so much as a glance in your direction. How can you get their attention? With floor graphics! One of your best promotion strategies is under your feet.

The Humane Society of Southwest Washington uses a couple of pull-up banners to make a statement and catch the eye of people walking by.

4. Don’t get left behind growing exhibit trends

Square footage at trade shows is increasing by 2.4 percent; the number of exhibitors is growing by 1.5 percent. There are 2.9 percent more attendees walking through the aisles than there were a year ago. These new eyeballs and new competitors mean that you have to be bringing your A-game and your best display tools. And your A-game means being able to outshine your competitors. Check out how one company utilized attendees as a way to promote their brand at a convention all with the color orange.

The report from Trade Show Executive has an in-depth look at the value of participating. Of course, the most persuasive statistic is the cost of making a face-to-face contact. While it costs about $96 to do so at a trade show, you have to be prepared to spend $1,039 to persuade a consumer to walk through your door via other means. Clearly, new trade show displays are a steal when you consider the real expense of making contact with the help of other advertising tools.

Creative Signs You Can Walk On

By | Exterior Signs

Have you ever looked at a blank space and thought “that would look great with our message on it” but then wondered if that would even be possible? New materials are allowing marketers to get their message noticed in more and more unusual places. You may think people are too busy checking their phones when walking about but these amazing graphics you can walk on will make them look twice and made us notice these creative signs.  Creative floor graphics get noticed.

Look down

There is a lot of blank canvas at your feet.  This is wasted promotional space for any company that has considerable foot traffic.  Creative floor graphics make the connection from something bright on the floor to the target at eye level.  Think about it.  In a grocery store you see creative floor graphics and you almost automatically see the matching product on the shelf.  That is powerful marketing.

Removeable

Creative floor graphics provide a temporary and removable solution for marketing.  The material is thick to absorb the abuse of many footsteps.  We can print nearly anything, including pictures on the specially designed floor graphic materials.

At Specialty Graphic Solutions we want people to not just walk but run to your brand! These versatile graphics can be used anywhere to promote your business. How can we help you get noticed? Call us at 360-635-5556 or at 503-766-3331 if you’d like to talk about your project.  Or if you prefer, simply click on the Contact Us button below or e-mail us at sales@sgsgraphic.com.
