5 Facts About Branding With Truck Wraps

There’s a steady flow of trucks past my office window and through our parking lot every day.  They carry lots of hard-working folks – but only a few of the trucks are really working as hard as they could for their owners. . .

Make your truck do more than haul you and your gear.  Get a truck wrap and make it a moving billboard and brand ambassador!  It is proven that wraps drive business which means your vehicles are working as hard as your employees.

Not quite sure about this idea?  Consider these 5 important facts about a truck wrap:

Fact 1:  A wrapped truck is a 24/7 billboard at work for your brand.

Truck wraps are essentially billboards on wheels.  Wherever you go, your truck is advertising your brand and your message.  Literally, thousands of people will see your truck each month.  In fact, the Transportation Advertising Council reports vehicle advertising generates between 30,000 and 70,000 daily impressions!  On average a person drives 300 miles a week which makes outdoor advertising like truck wraps very effective.

Fact 2:  You don’t always have to wrap 100% of your truck to send an effective message.

You see the super cool trucks out there that are completely covered with fantastic graphics.  When the design is right, they create an unforgettable image, but a smart partial wrap design can make good use of the most visible areas of your truck to make a big impact, too.  The partial wrap of a pickup for NEP Construction is a simple design that really pops.  Our gallery gives you more examples.

Fact 3:  Truck graphics are a cost-effective marketing investment.

Let’s just do the math.  Say you pay $2,500 for a truck wrap.  If it lasts for 3 years, and most wrap vinyl is rated for 5+ years (lifetime varies), your investment is $69.44 per month.  Assuming a very conservative 2,000 impressions per business day or 40,000 impressions per month (some companies claim 30 to 7ok impressions per day, but c’mon man, let’s keep it real!) your brand is shown to 1,000 impressions for $1.74 per month.  That works out to less than $0.001 everytime someone looks at your truck.  No other advertising media reaches so many people, makes such an impression and costs so little!   Still not convinced?  According to a study of all drivers by the American Trucking Association called The Visual Impact of Trucks in Traffic, showed:

96%  noticed truck side ads
98% said fleet graphics created a positive image for the company
96% said fleet graphics had more impact than billboards
75% of people developed an impression about a company and its products
29% would base a buying decision on the impression

Fact 4:  Truck wraps can be included in the new purchase or lease financing.

Some lenders will include the cost of your full or partial wrap in your upfront costs so it is just included in your monthly payment.  You’ll need a solid plan in advance to be sure the full cost is accurately estimated for the job, but we’ve worked with both truck owners and banks in the past and would love to do it again!

Fact 5:  You don’t have to give up your truck for days on end for your truck wrap installation.

Some truck owners we talk with are worried they’ll have to leave their truck for several days to have a wrap installed.  Even a full wrap can be usually be completely installed in 1-2 days.  No need to schedule your wrap installation at the expense of your company’s productivity.

At Specialty Graphic Solutions, it’s our job to stay abreast of the latest trends. After all, how are we going to provide our clients with recommendations that’ll keep them looking fashionable for many years to come if we don’t know what’s fashionable? In 2017, vinyl is in. Whether you’re out on the town or just keeping it parked at home, vinyl is the way to go.

Wait! What are you doing? Don’t head to the closest mall to buy up the latest vinyl clothing, unless that’s your thing. We don’t judge. We’re talking about making your fleet on fleek with vinyl graphics. Today, we’ll look at some of the ways you can boost your name recognition with fleet graphics in Vancouver, WA.

What Options Are Available?

Much like there are different styles of clothes, there are various types of vehicle graphics you can pick from for your fleet. But, unlike the fashion industry, the amount of material used is usually a good indicator of price. Here’s what’s currently en vogue:

Full and Partial Vehicle Wraps – Full wraps are either the Chanel or muumuu of vehicle graphics: they’re your most expensive option, and they cover everything. No other graphics grab as much attention as full wraps. If full wraps are out of your price range, you might consider partial wraps, which cover anywhere from 25% to 75% of your vehicle.

Perforated Window Vinyl – Vinyl window perf is like a mask for your car. It covers your windows. Before you grow concerned about your drivers getting in accidents because they can’t see anything, you should know that we only install window perf on rear windows, and the vinyl film has thousands of tiny holes that allow you to see out of your vehicle.

Spot Graphics – Your work van will look great in this season’s latest vinyl decals. Boost your brand recognition with decals showcasing your logo. Or, use spot graphics featuring enlarged photographs of your handiwork or top-selling items to really make a splash.

Truck Lettering – We all know someone who’s able to pull off great looks without breaking the bank. In the world of vehicle graphics, that someone would be truck lettering. This is the most affordable way for you to put your company name, contact information, and a list of products and services on your fleet. You can pick from whatever colors you want as well as matte, metallic, reflective, and neon vinyl styles.

Let Us Give You a Makeover

Without looking down our nose at you like some snooty Neiman Marcus employee, we’ll find the right graphics for your budget whether you have a fleet of two trucks or dozens of vehicles of all types. We’ll hook you up with professionally designed, fabricated, and installed graphics and lettering.

HVAC Contractor Adds RAM ProMaster Fleet Van Wraps in Portland!

By | Fleet Graphics, Truck Wraps, Vehicle Wrap

Fleep Van Wraps

With everyone carrying around cameras, privacy seems to be a thing of the past. Nowadays, you can’t even go to your local hardware store without paparazzi taking pictures of your van. Luckily, this is the precise problem Comfort Heating & Cooling wanted to have, so they contacted SGS for RAM ProMaster van wraps in Portland, OR.

What’s Comfort Heating & Cooling?

Located in Portland, Comfort Heating & Cooling is dedicated to supplying the best indoor comfort options for businesses and families. Their motto is “Doing the job right the first time.” Their services include residential and commercial ductless mini splits, tankless water heaters, duct cleaning, indoor air quality, and more. Plus, they have a team of professional service technicians who are NATE Certified. NATE isn’t just some dude. It’s the North American Technician Excellence organization, and being certified by them is a big deal.

When a business that has been keeping locals comfy for many years came to us for contractor van wraps in Portland, OR, we played it cool and said we’d love to help. Charlie Wallen, the owner of Comfort Heating & Cooling, came to SGS to wrap two brand new 2015 RAM ProMaster high roof vans he’d just purchased. Fortunately, we knew just how to make them look their best.

We Left Comfort Heating & Cooling Looking Hot

During an initial consultation, we listened closely to what Charlie had in mind for the project. He already had an older box truck with graphics on it. He wanted the two new vans to match the box truck. Our mighty sign maker Jason took a good look at a photo of the box truck and went to work designing graphics for the vans. Charlie loved the mock-ups we provided him with, which featured a blue sky background and the company’s information, so we got to work fabricating the wrap.

For those of you keeping score at home, the graphics were printed on 3M iJ180cV3-10 print vinyl with 3M 8519 luster laminate. Basically, you just need to know that this is premium cast vinyl that’s specifically designed to keep wraps like this looking their best far into the future.

Once the wrap was ready, it was time for installation. Charlie brought in one van at a time for us to wrap in our garage. Our fantastic installers turned the vans from white to WOW at a rate of about seven hours per van.

The Verdict

A week after the vans were finished, Charlie stopped in at the SGS shop. He was ECSTATIC about the wraps. Here’s the evidence:

  • There were four sightings of the new vans shared on the company’s Facebook page within two days of the vans hitting the road.
  • Charlie came out of a hardware store to find someone taking photos of his van.
  • Charlie says, “Everyone’s playing ‘I Spy Comfort Heating & Cooling!’”
  • He’s just really pleased with how they look and how much attention they’re getting!

Box Truck Graphics Promote Clark County Food Bank in Vancouver!

By | Box Truck Graphics, Truck Wraps, Vehicle Vinyl Logos | No Comments

When you think of the most famous signs in the country, the Hollywood sign or the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign may come to mind. The main characteristic that these signs and any marker that’s somewhat memorable have in common is they’re “YUGE” (as certain presidential candidates say).

So, when you have a box truck, you have the opportunity to create a large sign that people will remember.  Clark County Food Bank realized this and without hesitation contacted the mighty sign makers at Specialty Graphic Solutions for delivery box truck graphics in Vancouver, WA.  The folks at the food bank know the mighty sign makers well – they’re one of our favorite serial customers!  We’ve done several vehicle graphics projects, plus check out this cool commercial freezer door graphics project we did for them!

Deposits and Withdrawals at the Clark County Food Bank

The Clark County Food Bank, or CCFB as the cool kids call them, is situated on Northeast 47th Avenue in Vancouver. On a daily basis, the food bank picks up unsold food from local grocery stores, restaurants and other community minded places. This food is then distributed to partner agencies. They in turn provide food boxes to individuals and families they’ve identified as being in need. This is a great win-win-win setup with grocery stores unloading their unwanted inventory, hungry people getting food, and there’s less waste!  Lest you think this is small potatoes – CCFB distributes six million pounds of food and five million meals a year!

When a group that does such valuable work for our community came to us for delivery box truck graphics for Vancouver, WA, we couldn’t wait to create some delicious designs. This wasn’t our first time working with CCFB. In the past, we’d created vehicle graphics for their other vehicles and installed a cool giant mural on the sliding door of their commercial freezer in their food warehouse. For this project, they needed graphics for a brand new box truck. We knew just what to do!

We Gave CCFB the SGS Treatment

When we first met with CCFB for this project, we got to check out their new ride. The truck was purchased thanks to a grant from Walmart. They wanted the new truck to match the branding found on their other vehicles. Plus, they wanted to use special graphics to show their appreciation to Walmart for their financial commitment and to share Walmart’s dedication to fighting hunger in America. We created some art proofs for them to choose from. Once they were happy, we got down to work.

We printed the full-color graphics for both sides and the back of the new box truck on Oracal 3165A print vinyl using our large format digital printer. We also added Oracal 210 laminate to make sure the graphics would look their best for up to five years.

We then worked out a good time for the installation process. They ended up dropping off the truck at the end of the day on Thursday, and by Friday afternoon, they were able to pick up the truck with all the graphics installed and looking great. CCFB was completely happy with the work we did!

If you’re interested in signage that rivals the Hollywood sign in its memorability, contact SGS today for a free consultation on vehicle graphics for your fleet!

6 Facts About Truck Wraps

6 Facts About Truck Wraps That Will Surprise You!

Trucks have taken over the roads. Sure, you’ll likely see your occasional Subaru or Prius since this is the Pacific Northwest, but for those people who need a vehicle for work, the truck reigns supreme.  Here are some facts about truck wraps.

Yet, you hardworking folks who use these vehicles may not realize that your truck is holding out on you. It’s being lazy. Of course, it’s still hauling you and your gear, but what is it doing to market your company? Unless you have truck graphics for Vancouver, WA, it isn’t doing much to boost your brand.

Does this sound like crazy talk? Before closing your browser and dismissing the idea, take a minute to consider these six important facts about truck wraps:

Fact 1: Truck graphics can be incorporated into a lease or new purchase financing.

Some lenders will include the cost of your truck wrap in the upfront costs you pay for the vehicle. So, you end up paying for it all in your monthly payments. We have experience providing estimates to banks and truck owners to help with this process.

Fact 2: A wrapped truck is a 24/7 billboard at work for your organization.

When you wrap your truck, you’re basically getting a billboard on wheels. Your truck is marketing your brand, your message, and your company wherever you go. Each month, you can count on tens of thousands of people seeing your truck.

Fact 3: Your Message Can Even Continue on Your Windows.

“What the heck are you talking about, SGS? If I put graphics on my windows, I’m putting the safety of myself and all of those people I hold most dear in serious jeopardy!” Not true! With vinyl window perf, you can still see out of your windows while showcasing your information on the exterior.

Fact 4: You don’t need to give up your truck for days on end while your wrap is being installed.

We know you need your truck to get your work done. You can’t afford to be without it for long. Fortunately, we can wrap most trucks in less than a day. This is much faster than if you were to get a custom paint job.

Fact 5: Track wraps are an affordable marketing investment.

It’s time for a little math. Feel free to take out your calculator. Let’s say a truck wrap costs you $2,500. Most wrap vinyl is rated for five years of use or more, but for the sake of being conservative, we’ll assume the wrap will last three years. This would mean that your investment cost you under $70 per month. You can’t get that sort of deal from any other advertising media.

Fact 6: You Can Just Wrap Some of Your Truck

Of course, it looks really cool and garners the most attention when you wrap your entire truck, but you can still make a huge impact with a smartly-designed partial wrap. We can even work with the colors of your vehicle to make it look like you have a full wrap at a fraction of the price of that product.

This is just a taste of what vinyl graphics can do for your business. If you’re ready to really put your truck to work for you, contact the mighty sign makers at Specialty Graphic Solutions for a free, no-strings-attached quote!
